Phnom Penh: The Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Mr. Kao Kim Hourn confirmed to the media after the Prime Minister's return from Korea, he has brought a lot of benefits to Cambodia by travelling to attend the 4th Peace Summit.

Speaking at a press conference at Phnom Penh International Airport on the night of 13 February 2022, Mr. Kao Kim Hourn said that on his way to attend the 2022 Peace Summit in Seoul, Republic of Korea, Prime Minister met with leaders of this country including both the President and the speaker of the National Assembly, as well as the former Secretary-General of the United Nations. In addition, the President of the 40th US Congress, Mr. Newton Leroy Gingrich, declared that Prime Minister Hun Sen is a patriotic person.

Kao Kim Hourn said: "We already know that the United States is not easy to recognize someone! But at this ceremony, the leadership of the United States, His Excellency Newton Leroy Gingrich, the former President of the US Congress, spoke directly in public, he acknowledged that Prime Minister Hun Sen is a true patriot to Cambodia as he has ended the worst civil war in Cambodia, and dare to sacrifice, sometimes without hope, but he still struggles to win it. "So, all the words used by the president of the United States Congress is not normal, widely accepted, especially by former US leaders."

Mr. Kao Kim Hourn stated that the benefits of the four diplomatic work that the Prime Minister brought to Cambodia are the bilateral diplomatic work between Cambodia and Korea, which will promote trade, investment and the diplomatic work of the Public Diplomatic Parliament, which he sent many messages related to Building peace to the world, and the keyword in this message is "War cannot end by war," the peace diplomacy work that led to the building of peace on the Korean Peninsula, which gave the idea of "Two states towards one nation, one peninsula, one people, one culture" and the promotion of world peace as well as peace on the Korean Peninsula.

It should be noted that Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen travelled to Seoul, the Republic of Korea on 10 February 2022 to co-chair the three-day World Peace Summit. At the summit, he was also announced as the Sun Hak Peace Prize winner, making him the first ASEAN leader to be awarded by the Peace Foundation.

In a press release on 13 February 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the success of the Prime Minister's visit to attend this meeting increasing the relationship between Cambodia and Korea.
